Plato was always great at stirring up trouble. Two of his dialogues: Timaeus and Critias have served as the basis for the theory behind the Lost City of Atlantis. While many critics attribute this story to the creation of a philosopher's imagination to illustrate an argument, proponents claim that it was the other way around; his dialogues were inspired by catastrophic events, leading to the destruction of the Minoan civilization on Crete and Thera.
So, did Plato have too much wine? Is Atlantis an exaggeration based on the ancient cities of Thera in the Mediterranean? Or could it be real? Is it possible for an advanced and rich civilization to have existed in the Atlantic Ocean circa 9,000 BC? By most accounts, the only written records of Atlantis are found in Timaeus and Critias. Another possible destination is around the Azores Islands, a group of islands belonging to Portugal, 900 miles west of the Portuguese coast. Some actually argue that these islands are the mountaintops of the sunken continent of Atlantis.

The answer to this question has never been proved. The city of Atlantis was orginally thought to be a mythical place much like mount olympus. the concept was discovered in many artefacts where 1 symbol was sporadically found but the meaning of it was never known for centuries. I'm a little unsure of how it was eventually deciphered but people began to believe that the place existed largely due to the fact that a large quantity of gold plated treasures were unearthed under the ocean. With these artefacts were several manuscrips describing the appearance of Atlantis. Research has shown that the description matches two locations one being located close to what is now the dead sea. Unfortunately the writings are thought to have been passed down through generations so are not first hand accounts so the accuracy of the description is not reliable. The existance of Atlantis has never been proven or disproved but current research continues examining the myths and manuscripts and searching for possible locations, all of which are thought to be under water.
For the record it is thought that the loch ness monster is likely to be a sea creature related to the whale from the jurassic era. Its appearance in the loch is said to be a result it losing its way from the sea much like the whale in the river thames around 12 months ago. If it does exist though there has to be more than 1 of them! Hope this all helps!!

All the myths, legends and fairy tales start with the truth.Geographical information in such cases must not be precise, it is in the myths of secondary value.Information serves only for emotional shock (place can be more or less real) as result of the imagination of the talented seers which expressed their philosophy (received from the ancient teachings) about the life. What counts is the message presented through the tales.
Emotional stress presented in tales serves to underline the processes described. It is not point whether such things existed or not (emotionally exaggerated). The messages are presented for our emotional intelligence, warning us, that our time on the earth is limited. We should use our time like heroes from Atlantis and other (Greece,Egypt..).Learning from them we can squeeze from ourselves the best we can to fulfil the life with smart effort and utmost joy.For sure once existed higher developed intelligences (this is the point) that have left a marks of higher possibilities (like pyramids built with knowledge 'that came from Atlantis'). These marks are relevant as certain kind of durable books.Instructed people can read a message from them. These books talk about human's possible evolution.

atlantis only got its name through a book but was somewhat based on fact of the island of thera which was in the eastern middle part of the mediteranian sea going back almost 3000 yrs now there was an explosion from this island which entiyerly wiped it off the face of the planet. some people say that it was a volcanic eruption but there is not enough evidence to support this whilst some others say that it was one of their great technologically advanced machines that did this, this theory has been slightly proven due to the fact that when scientist and archiologists found this lost city it hadf no proof of encrustment by lava but the explosion was traced back to the middle of the city where no volcano stood at all. During this time around the mediteranian there were stories of giant clouds of smoke and earth quakes which reached as far as Egypt, Spain reported a tsunami which stood approx. 300'', 100m and then proceeded to miles inland. at first these scientists didnt believe it either but when they went digging to the supposed where abouts of where the tsunami stopped they found a massive amount of shells, plants and building material.
So there you go all done 'finally'

Nessie is not a creature, but a population of extremely secretive Plesiosaurs. They are related to reptiles, not dinosaurs and they are a carnivorous aquatic genus that have existed since the Jurassic period. People think they died out during th K-T extinction, but they do indeed thrive in the depths of the Loch Ness.

Atlantis was said to have had a giant crystal that harnessed
the power of the Earths magneic field. And theyhad flying
machines.
There is a place in Peru, the Nazca Pains. From the air, it
looks like an airport. It's ancient.
There are suppsed to be 12 vortexes, spirals of energy,at work
on our world. One inthe Bermuda Triangle, where it is believed
the crystal lies under the water.
Supposedly, they used this power for war, and it backfired!
Ezekiel 1:22, KJV. "The terrible crystal!"
The Chittim in the Bible are, I think, the descendants of Atlantis.
The red race was supposed to be the ones in power back then.
Today, the land of the Chittim would be the U.S.
Book of Daniel, "Ships of Chittim!"
Decide for yourself.

Atlantis , or Can-vey as the Greeks knew it , is an idyllic small island situated in the estuary of the River Thames. Known for its beautiful women who make a living diving for pearls, and singing with crystal clear voices, Can-vey is a deeply spiritual and haunting place. On clear nights UFO`s, or chariots of fire can be seen over the refineries, strange disfigured fish float in the sea, and the natives `talk funny `. Enough mythology for me !!

It may have been based on a real place, just as (the legend of) King Arthur is thought to have been based on a real person (or persons). Evidence keeps being found to suggest it did exist, but whether it was called Atlantis or was much like the legends say, is iffy.

Yes Atlantis really did exist and since no one can claim it as their own they are trying to destroy Atlantis in different way But the truth is out there for all to see. In spite of mankind's effort to destroy or twist the truth in favor of those that can't or won't accept the reality of Atlantis .................................................... Also the movemnt of certain fish that were never seen in those countries before shows the existense of an Atlantis in many aspects. But I have read something that certain members of mankind does not want to believe somethings about who the real inhabitants of Atlantis were..............

there are some who say that Atlantis existed and that there are still traces of it today. but there has never been positive proof.
Loch Ness monster has never been proven to exist as almost all evidence has been debunked or unreliable simply because people's stories have not been backed with hard evidence.
