I am 38 weeks along...I have read that NIPPLE STIMULATION, artificial rupture of the membrances, and potosin are the 3 ways to make you go into labor. The nipple stimulation goes way back. I have tried the sex thing and it is the last thing I want to do right now. I have walked, climbed stairs, castor oil, clergy sage oil, everything manageable.
I was JUST WONDERING what the correct way to stimulate your nipples was. It is suppose to have the same effect as a breast pump???

I have heard it works but you have to do it for hours! I would just enjoy your last weeks or pregnancy it will be over before you know it

Whatever about letting nature take its course. At 38 weeks your baby is fine and ready to be born, As far as nipple stimulation goes you can use a breast pump,or just twist and roll with your fingers. This may work,i know my midwife uses this technique with some patients to stimulate their uterus. And as for sex that is not a myth.Having sex can help your cervix to soften and thin out because sperm has progesterone in it which is a hormone that will help you go into labor. You don't need to be near the hospital if you start stimulating your nipples, you know you are not just going to dilate to 10 and pop your baby out ,please women have you had any children. You should go ahead and try nipple stimulation, you have to do it for a while to get your contractions in a pattern and keep them going otherwise they could stop and you will be back at square one.

Be very careful about stimulating your nipples. It releases a hormone called oxytocin (the synthetic is called pitocin) which also causes contractions. When you breastfeed, this hormone delivers relaxing and bonding feelings to you, when you are in labor it gets the baby out! I have always heard to be careful - like do it in the hospital and not at home. Never tried it though!!
Good luck and congrats to you and your baby!

Your baby will come when it is ready. While I can understand your discomfort and or being anxious, let nature take it's course. Try taking nice warm baths as often as you can. I used to fill our very large tub up with very warm water, go on all fours (I looked like a frog) and just let my belly hang down. For some reason, I used to feel relaxed in that position and the baby really liked it as well. It also helped with lower back pain.

If your 38 wks why are you trying to rush nature? The baby will come out on his/her own. If the baby is past due then the DOCTOR will take the next step. By the way....having sex doesn't induce labor. That's a myth probably started by men lol. oh Congrats on the baby!

Just wait. The baby will come when it is ready. Making a baby come before it is ready can cause all sorts of complications later. You are close to your due date. Be patient and wait. The baby will come when it is ready.
