Does anyone know why the numeric keypads on a phone start from top left to bottom right 1-9 and on a computer keyboard start bottom left 1-9 to top right?

How does that make sense?

The design of keypads from touchtone phones was simply copied for the cell phones.

Computers are designed, engineered and built by an entirely different group of people who were not copying a phone.
