I have no backyard and would like to grow vegatables in
my garage with grow lights, etc. I do not mind spending
a lot of money to set this up and run it, but want to know
if it is doable and if vegatables would taste the same as
if they were grow outdoors

I have a "beef" with Vegans! Classic! Anywho, I try to eat local and organic as much as I can. When you buy grapes in winter they are coming from Chile and while that may be all well and good there is an enviroenmental cost to buying these. The shipping causes a lot of pollution! Also, buying things in season is very important. This not only cuts down on transportation pollution (and in theory costs) it also means you get to eat a bigger variety of food through out the year. Also, I am with you I see nothing wrong with meat and dairy that is organic. It also depends on where you live. In California all kinds of great fresh food is grown year round. If you live in Kansas you might be stuck eating nothing but wheat in the winter. lol Also, what about Nevada? Almost nothing grows there! lol

There is an On Line Company Called Worms Way, It used to be in Worcester Massachusetts. I Know it is still in Mass. But I don't know about the Worcester Part.
Any how how it was founded by a couple of old Hippies. They really know about growing indoors. Equipment and all.
I am not insinuating bad things about your ideas, but I know that growing indoors is the same across the board and these folks know how to grow indoors! What ever the crop is.

Oh yes, anything is possible...many years ago when we were living in the mountains and I had gro lights all over the house, my son expressed so much interest and wanted to install them down in the basement where he slept. He had these giant cabinets about 2ft. sqaure each...I was so impressed that he was growing and growing. His sister, also a teenager, said, "Mom, I don't like to tell on people, but you may need to talk to my brother about his plants". and yes, they were pot...I didn't know any better at the time.....be careful, you can't get ahead of your parents for too long

..yeah you can do it- just think if all those potheads can grow in closets in cities- you should have no problem growing plants in a garage with lights..

Yes you can, you might look into hydroponics with grow lights. The crop will be just as tasty as if it were grown outdoors.
