Now there you go! Bdbarbie's gone and written the book for you. I, for one, think she ripped it off the iternet somewhere, without including the source. The stuff I read before I got bored was right, though. Not to mention nobody writes with such good grammar off the top of their heads - that needs editors.
Bad Barbie:( Ken will have to give you a spanking.
BTW the Black Death of the middle ages was estimated to have wiped out between 40% and 75% of European population, with some areas losing 90% population. A paradox: those who survived were much better off materially, as Europe was getting quite overcrowded and land-poor before the Black Death.

bd barbie is right as far as the black plague being spread by rats/fleas. i didn't feel like reading the rest. what other information i know, was that the reason there were so many rats everywhere was because the people lacked hygiene, especially since they threw their garbage out into the streets. plus, the people also flocked to the cities, so with such close contact, the spread took a strong hold.

sorry, i don't have any references to include for you.

The rat story has been discredited. Examination of plague victims and die ratios suggests it was a viral infection. Just shows how people go trotting the same old thing out year after year!
