Berber REALLY absorbs water.

Do not steam clean.

Call one of those DRY carpet cleaners. Like Chem Dry.

It's like having your clothes dry cleaned.

I tried everything to get my berber clean. Finally, we broke down and rented a steam cleaner. By the time we rented the machine, took a whole day off from work, and broke our backs moving furniture and dumping/refilling the water it cost more than just hiring a carpet cleaning company. Plus, since their van is what powered their vac, the carpet got a lot cleaner, and wasn't as damp afterwards either! Hire a pro, save yourself the headache.
