If it is true that we only use a small portion of our brain, then one can only imagine the magnitude of actual potential every person has within them. It is my belief that it is entirely up to the individual as to the level at which they use their brain. For instance, quantum mechanics suggests that we are only limited to what we limit ourselves to, meaning as long as we BELIEVE in something enough it will in one way or another come to fruition in our own minds. Most would argue the validity of this theory, but it's important to know that those who argue it are simply manifesting what they believe to be true. It has been established time and time again that the results of scientific experiments will vary depending on the person conducting the experiment. Every scientific experiment begins with forming a hypothesis. This hypothesis is essentially the scientists' prediction regarding the outcome of the experiment. It is true that if one were to assign the same experiment to five scientists and ask each scientist to form their own unique hypothesis on the outcome of that experiment, each scientist would have a slightly different outcome. Hence the outcomes would be adjusted to favor each scientists unique prediction on that outcome. I really hope this helps to answer your question, or perhaps at least shed some light on the true power potential we all have contained within our minds, and that that power is created through our own individual belief systems. Good Luck, and always remember "Mind Over Matter"
-Ciao!

Yes we do use a tiny piece of our brain...some of us use none of our brain:)
We have the potential to do what ever we want to do...Mind over Matter...See the Unknown....Our thoughts are reality.
Someone can fulfill if that is something they really want to do, but it will be so very hard in this physical world. They would have to go far away where there will be no distractions from the physical.

that's an old idea.
people "breakdown", "cant take anymore" get overwhelmed from information overload. and scientists are starting to lean that different functions happen in different centers of the brain.
certain areas grow with certain behaviors or other stimulus.
they only know a tiny fraction about our brains
- and bodies- is the real answer.
they cant even fix paralysis from injury to the spine or diagnose all that happens there and that is far less complicated than the brain.

...i heard we only use about 10 or 20 %, if that was true, then humans are capable of more than we can ever imagine. Thus the reason as to why we are still not achieving our potentials is because of HATE
...countries spend their power minds on developing and improving war fares. WHAT GIVES?
...yes, i believe in the power of the mind but i also believe that it takes way more than the average human life time to develop it

The power of the mind has hit me between the eyes in the last 10 years. My husband has Alzheimer and his decline is unbelievable, my grandson has Aspberger Autisme and he is a completely different boy than my other grandson who has ADD. All 3 males in my life have a problem in the braincells. If we will ever fulfill our potential? I do not think so. We take it so much for granted and yet our mind is everything!

I disagree with Tim, we aren't perfect therefore our minds ain't be perfect, so yes I do believe that we only use a fraction of our brains, for now any ways. Oh and Tim said"If we can think it we can do it" hmm ok well I think I can breath under water without scuba gear...I doubt I could do that! oh and I think I can fly without an airplane or a helicopter etc. It doesn't mean I'm going to jump off the Empire State building!!

The brain is structured to do many different things. If we used 100% of the brain at one time it would require doing dozens of different tasks simultaneously. I don't think it means we all have the potential to have a 400 IQ and the ability to bend spoons with our minds.

That is precisely the case. The figures I have seen say taht from 8 to 12% is al that we use. One can ohly image what lies in tha unused 90%. I fully believe that people will be able to access that unused protion....and I believe that it will be much sooner than anyone thinks.

dunno about the other guys out there, but i personally believe that the human mind has amazing power. i am of the opinion that we can do anything we put our mind to. even if it is seemingly impossible. the only limits r the ones we create, either we have created because we r afraid of something, or society created and then just passed it on to us. ppl who were brought up at a distance from society have proven that the human mind has enormous potential. we just have to let it roam free.

I think its true, if you take a look at autistic people for example, some have extraordinary gifts. I think they go some way to show what kind of potential we have. it will be interesting to see if anyone figures it out in our lifetime.
