when you answer questions do you:

read the responses/answers of other people

Ever check back on the question to see how the trend of answers continued or if someone made comment to yours?

are you self conscious about the questions you ask even though it's just your avatar and nobody really know who you are?

1 thing I do is look of questions I answered that are in voting and
vote on my own as Best Answer.
2 sometimes I answer a question just so I can look back at the answers
3 try to only ask questions I really want an an answer to.
4 if someone give me 10 points I go to their profile and to the questions they answered and give them a thumbs up on Open
questions. You can't vote on theirs as Best because they hide the identity.

I usually check back several times, both to read other answers & especially to see if the questioner has added details if it has been requested.

If the question is very intriguing, then I'll continue to check back to see other opinions & if I discover a comment made to my answer, then I'll 'Edit' my original response to include ackowledgement of such.

I'm not really self conscious about the questions I ask, because I've only asked 2. I don't ask something unless I'm certain I want to ask. Nobody really knows anyone around here, though after awhile, you'll recognize others & come to know them a little by the responses they offer on the boards.

Sometimes you might be surprised because you'll end up making a very good friend just by hanging out here and playing.

sometimes I might be self conscious, if I'm saying something that others may not agree with, i try to phrase things in a way that can't be taken the wrong way or be offensive, but other than that, who cares? I don't know any of these people.. I don't check back on questions unless they are really interesting...

yeah, i'll go back a few times if i like the question or to see what other people have posted. lots of times people will add comments and things like that to the questions or make changes so a question can change quite a bit from its original context over the course of seven days.

most of the fun of this site comes from the funny postings of other people.

as far as being self conscious, i don't worry about that at all. i have portrayed myself as gay, insane, and highly intelligent (to name just a few). The only thing I try to do is have fun but not offend or completely mislead people.

I only read the responce after b/c most of the time i try to be the 1st to answer so it wouldn't seem as if i was copying answers. some times i check back on a question when i think my answer is funny or the best one posted

I always check because one of the answers will be deemed a "best" answer. I am not in any way self concious of my questions, Avatar notwithstanding.

you're right when you said its just an avatar and no one knows who we really are........but the longer we participate and build up our point levels the more we also build sort of a reputation here..we're known as good askers or bad answerers or perverts,or dumbasses,,we do end up with a rep so sometimes just making sure ones answer is posted right ,,spelling good and point is across......it does reflect back on the rep we all end up with. like the ''retard'' guy is known for those stupid questions of his but that's what he's aiming for since he's kept it up and that's his rep........

I check back on my answers once in awhile...usually to see if anyone just copied my answer/reworded it. That happens occasionally. You know, people who answer first, second, or somewhere up top edit their answer using information from other answers so they get chosen for Best Answer.

That's why I try to answer first.
