I've heard that cows farting seriously effects the ozone layer. It's put forth as a reason for not eating beef.

Remember, you fart what you eat, so it is wise to adopt a defensive diet. Or, if you hate people, an offensive one might be in order. To fart or not to fart is not the question either. Farts are like politicians - no matter how much they stink you can't prevent them from occurring and they are offensive at ALL times. Any true tree-hugger would catch and bag their farts. Maybe the government could come up with a safe storage facility and utilize donated farts to heat the halls of congress - raw and right out of the bag!

lol, no. CFC's destroy the ozone and they were banned some 30 or 40 years ago. though i suppose passing wind could raise the methane levels and aid to global warming lol.. but even on your best bean day you couldn't put out what a factory puts out in a second :P

could be, farts produce methane, which is a gas that has a bad repution.
a whole herd of cows can produce thousands and thousands of amounts of methane, it can destroy!!
