If you do the least amount of work should you get the most help? Shouldnt hard working families recieve some kind of help too? Arent they more deserving. Dont be fooled, a huge percentage of people collecting government benefits do so by choice. It angers me that after Katrina I got a loan fromt he SBA but if I had bad credit or lower income I would have gotten a 10-20k dollar grant from the government. Why does our system work this way? What motivation do they have to work if they are provided enough to live on and have no ambition for anything else? Cant we rip them from the government teet and start spending that money on industrious persons?

The government gives out way more in benefits to corporate interest's than it does to the poor. But you sound middle class like I am and it's the middle class that always gets screwed

Your assumption is wrong. The poorest people do NOT get the most help. In fact, the vast majority of government give-aways go to corporations, in terms of tax incentives, research grants, and support funding. Remember the $10 billion that Congess voted to give to the oil companies for 'research into alternative fuel sources'? At least they later removed it. But things like that happen all the time and we never hear about it.
What about agricultural price supports?
I am sorry about your situation. My family was poor, but not poor enough for me to get grants to go to college, so I had to take loans and pay them back. Later, I got a glimpse into the lives of the kids who got the grants, and they were certainly less fortunate than I was. But they WERE trying to make their lives better, not just living off the public dole.
I do believe there should be conditions under which those who are simply manipulating the system could be dropped. But that kind of action is hard to prove. And if we drop them, what then? Do they turn to crime and go to prison, where we will feed and house them at even greater expense?

People who can be counted on are usually dumped on the most while the lazy are rewarded. The government knows that hard working taxpayers can be taxed more while poor people who don't pay as much don't get penalized because most own nothing. When Hurricane Floyd came through in 1999 the poor welfare recipients made out like bandits and stayed in FEMA trailers for three years after the flood while I had to gut my house and start from scratch with no help from FEMA or SBA. I finally sold my house to my city because it was in a flood plain. I had to sell it for less than face value in order to get out of the mortgage I had locked into. My brother ended up paying it off for me because he wasn't affected by the flood.

Really ,Rich people no more about the stem and how to make their money grow fast , Poor people no how to do but slowly by using the lows form of the government to do it. Then the government tells the world that we did this for the poor giving up twice the amount they need to cover up ten time amount they took before the poor even got theirs.

The funny thing is the poorest people don't get the most government help. If you believe this visit under the bridges is large city's. The laziest most crooked people are the ones who gets the most help. They have learned to work the system.

Well, the poor need the most help. Those who have a clue need less help.
And if you think those who are well-to-do don't get help, you're fooling yourself. Look at all the stadiums built with public money, subsidies for farms, big oil and other big companies. Tax incentives for companies.

Man you are a harsh person. The idea is to help those that need it the most. If someone is cheating that's one thing, but lot's of people need it. where's the heart man?
