Actually Wondering you are within the law fully, you are allowed to make a copy for yourself, but not for anyone else.

It's legal to make backup copy of a cd for personal use under the Fair Use Clause of the U.S. Copyright Act.

Simply put, if it's copy-righted, you are not allowed to. But I will make a copy for my car and leave one in the house. That's technically illegal, but my intent is within the spirit of the law.

if you are creating another copy of a cd other than for you and you only.... you need to have a second licensed copy of it.

So to put that in english... the only reason you can copy the cd is if you want to listen to it (which I don't know why you would need to copy it in the first place other then for backup)
