I'd hardly call it a resurgence. These big east teams have been playing mostly soft non conference schedules, and there have been NO games yet between 2 good teams in that conference.
I enjoyed the fact that West Virginia beat SEC champ Georgia last season IN the Georgia Dome, but that does not make the entire Big East conference strong. It is by far the weakest of the 6 BCS conferences

None of these teams has really played anyone, and some have played some pretty easy schedules like those in the SEC.

West Virginia is good, but Louisville isn't as good as people say. Rutgers is up and coming and Pittsburgh hasn't played anyone. Wannstedt isn't a good coach but is a good recruiter. The big east is having a great year but next year they will not be anywhere near as good. It's kind of a fluke.

and what resurgence(sp.) would that be? Who do they play as non-conf games? Without Va Tech, Miami, and BC the Big East has no real competition and then all of these teams play weak non-conf. games. The big east is hurting because of that.

When they play someone then we can talk. Look on the bright side, it's almost basketball season.

Edit
It's not the 90's, Miami doesn't count as someone.

their record is not as important as their opponents record which is horrible, they should be able to beat bad teams
