I think that you need to take the medication that your doctor proscribed for you. I am going to college right now to be a OB-GYN and I advise you to take what the doctor ordered you. A lot of people get urinary track infections when they get pregnant, and through there pregnancy. The penicillin that you have at home maybe different in a couple ways, and the dosage may be different to. Just go to the pharmacy. Look out for the health of you and your baby. If you have any questions you can reach my work email at jks_princess1991@yahoo.com I’m an intern right now to be a OB-GYN and I know everything about it. Thx!

I got a UTI when I was about 8 weeks....I am 12 weeks now. My doctor prescribed me Amoxicillin...it was like 225 mg, 3 times a day. But your doctor should write you a prescription......Take take medicines that you have been prescribed in the past!

If you ar pregnant never take strong drugs as Penicillin!!! I strongly advise you to change the doctor!! Yours is quite irresponsible!

It is always safer to use a new RX for each new problem. Unless your Phys. gave you the go ahead, I would have the new Rx filled, just to be on the safe side. Some medicines, esp. antibiotics have exp. dates.
If you are unsure, ask your Dr. or pharmacist.
Hope this is of some use. Take care of yourself and that baby!!

it is very common for pregnant women to get uti's. it is common for you to get any kinda infection down there while pregnant. i owuld take the penicillian. you have to take something otherwise it is just going to get worse and it could harm your baby. just take what you have and if it doesn't help with in a day or so i would go get the perscription

go to the Pharmacy. Each perscription could be different, and you need to know how often they want you to take it.
