Its like the coolest invention in history!!!

This is how it works:

It looks like a packet of ketchup.

The woman sticks it up her vagina, and when a man penetrates her its razor points slice his penis!

All the woman has to do is insert it in her vagina everyday.

I included the website, you got to read it.

Why doesn't anyone bring it to the United States?

Its the perfect defense against rape.

American women would never have to worry about rape again!!!

This is a really tough subject. I appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting women to have some protection against rape, I'm just not sure this will be as effective over time as you might imagine.

As I'm sure some have already said, rape is not really about sex - it's about domination. If men know that this sort of precaution is a possibility, disturbing as this is to say, they would resort to using objects first.

Also, the youngest victims would have to be victimized to use it. Babies and young girls (who are often attacked, especially in South Africa) should not have to have anything inserted vaginally. Who knows what effect that would have on them physically and psychologically.

I know it must sound easy to just insert this object, but it's probably a great deal more uncomfortable that you might imagine. And it means having to be conscious of it every minute of every day.

We need to decide that rape is not okay. That it's not about sex, but aggression.

I'm not against women having access to this and using it if they want, but I think education and prosecution are the keys.

I've heard about this. I think some people have some misconceptions. The device also acts as a condom, so the women wearing it would be protected from unwanted pregnancy and disease. She would not be exposed to his blood, and it would be perfectly safe for her to wear.

I understand the concerns about the rapists killing the women, but it is meant to be debillitating. Would a guy really be able to kill a woman if he has a bunch of spikes imbedded in his penis? Since he has to go to the hospital to get it removed, surely the cops would be involved at some point. Sigh. Maybe that's too much to be hoped for. But, honestly, something has to be done. Society is very resistant to change; just look at the number of questions here mocking the concept of feminism. It's going to take a lot to get to a place where the world is safe for women. Until then, honestly, yay for anything that might keep a woman safe from rape. Pepper spray and whistles and triple locks on doors aren't 100%, either, but every little bit helps. I'm all for changing the world, but until it gets there, women need every little thing we can get to help.

I would think a chastity belt for men and women is a better idea! You can't get the key until a certain age and some kind of training and license! You need a license to fish, drive, and lots of other stuff but uneducated people can reproduce as much as they want?? Most shouldn't own animals let alone children. Then women don't carry there keys with them if they didn't plan on having sex. Imagine how many accidental spur of the moment kids are out there?? If I ever have a daughter I'd want her to wear one. I'd talk her into though not force her.

You know, I have to say I like the idea...imagine the look on the monster's face! But I do wonder if it would incite murder...however, on the other hand, isn't that similar to saying the woman shouldn't fight back for fear of being killed? Statistics prove otherwise. BTW, I've heard of how bad the rape crisis is, especially in S. Africa. Many of the victims are very young girls, because there is a superstition that if an AIDS infected man has sex with a virgin, it will cure him. So, of course, a man with AIDS (and a predilection for rape) would want to find the youngest girl possible, to be sure. And it would seem that this device could probably help protect them against AIDS as well. So, whether he kills her or gives her AIDS, she's dead either way (especially in Sub-Saharan Africa where effective HIV medication is much harder to come by.) If it were me, I'd take my chances with this device. What's to say he wasn't going to kill you after he was done brutalizing you, anyway?

South Africa does have the highest rate of rape in the world. It also has the highest rate of serial killers. Just behind South Africa in the rate of rape is Zimbabwe, followed by the other neighbouring nations. It is cultural, not political or really due to economic disadvantage. There are other countries that have similar economic problems among the population. It is the traditional culture in sub-Saharan Africa.

While a product such as this sounds like a good idea at first, there are many downsides. Sure, it would hurt the rapist, but the victim would end up with the rapist's blood inside her. Also, this product may stop the rape, but it would more than likely cause the rapist to become enraged, and cause more harm to the victim, possibly killing her.

The only true way to stop rape from occurring is to change people's attitudes, so that everyone realizes violence against women is not acceptable.

I think this is a good site:

Please, if you are sexually assaulted, seek help, go to the police, and have an exam done. It is NOT your fault. Keep the monster from hurting anyone else!

The rape is an awful crime, but I do not think that this is the best way to fight against it. And some people would use it wrongfully to hurt others.

I think it is wrong to hurt others. I think that if the idea of this device would spread and a rapist would have to guess if his victim would have this, maybe they thought twice about attacking a woman like that.

In places like Africa, where HIV is running wild...the last thing a woman needs (aside from rape) is to be getting herself exposed to a rapist's blood.

The way to stop rape is to change the behavior of the rapists, not the victims. In the US we've been trying to change the victims' behavior for decades (i.e. don't walk alone at night, don't go out by yourself, don't leave your windows open or your doors unlocked, wear conservative clothing etc), but we never take a look at what the GUYS are doing. Walking alone at night is not a form of permission to take advantage of someone. We need to change that attitude that it's okay to take advantage of people, whether it's sexually, mentally, physically, whatever.....it takes a long time, but it's the most effective approach. Men need to hold other men accountable, just as much as women need to watch their female friends and make sure they're not assaulted.

It would not help women. Think about all the inventions that were thought to help rape victims. Including defense tactics, guns, sprays, tasers, etc... None of these have eliminated raped. In fact, they challenge 'rapists'. Rape is about power. This device would only provoke the rapist's ego. It would probably even provoke him to greater violence and anger.

Although i think many rapist would respond with further violence most rape victims are at risk of being murdered anyways. I guarantee a rapist that is caught by one of these would think twice before doing it again. Also, it offers a woman a chance to get a way and prevent fulfillment of the rapist intentions which might already include murder.
