I stayed in the hospital for 24 hours after mine. It took a few weeks for me to get all my strength back. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck.

I stayed 3 hours after leaving recovery room (seriously!), but I am a doctor (know signs ans symptoms of problems and promised my surgeon I'd call) and had a spinal for the procedure, so I was ready to go.
Most people stay a day or two, it depends on a number of factors, including intraoperative blood loss, complications, other medical problems, home situation, etc.
Real recovery takes much longer. You need to give yourself at least a month to be back to a state of relative normalcy.
