I think that it is possible if you put your mind to it. You could start by wearing something you enjoy and applying a favourite perfume/after shave (depending on gender). You could vow to find something positive about everything that happens.
Traffic jams = at least you're sheltered from the elements.
Standing in the train all the way = having a chance to flex your leg muscles and feel the benefit.
Being shouted at by the boss = at least one is able to hear. Things could be worse: one could be deaf.
Doing a really boring job = at least one can think above it...to the job one plans to move on to next.
And so on. If you are really determined "to see the world in a grain of sand and eternity in a flower" as Blake put it, then you can achieve it.
Back to my boring task. But the sun is shining!

You should ALWAYS Choose to!
You are also the only one who can achieve it because what is good ? its your own definition of Good/Bad that decides that.
If you dislike rain its a bad day If you love the sun its good. We cant control the weather or what others do but its how we let it affect us. Its called LIFE
If you go to work thinking it's boring it will be so try and think of one thing you do like about it and look forward to doing that instead.
Everyone dislikes or 'finds boring' some part of there job but if you focus on the good things and make the bad a challenge of some kind you will find it a lot less boring.I hate Cooking but its part of my job so I dont THINK about it till I have to do it and then I challenge myself to produce the meal wanted exactly as my boss likes it. I still dont like cooking but its no longer boring.
Try it on your boring bits find the right challenge for each job and suddenly you find yourself thinking 'I love my job' and it's a phrase most successful people use.
I doubt your job is really impossible, there must be others doing the same unless your job is unique like the Queens. So think of a benifit to your job. For example a monotonous job making plugs in a factory would be made easier by thinking of all the people who need them yourself included instead of thinking of how many you have to make! If your on piece work you could end up making more money, it's been scientifically proven we work better at anything when we are relaxed. By finding a positive we gain a positive. Who doesn't want more money than they have! and that's also from personal experience. The best thing was as soon as I stopped thinking negatively about it, it wasn't long before a better job came along. It wasn't any better paid but it was something I liked doing!
I think if you can change your opinion of your job you can then start to know what is a 'good' day for you.

Well yes and no. Yes of course you can CHOOSE to have a good day but it isn't always a good day that follows.
What about all those people who CHOSE their day was going to be brilliant at the twin towers only for the 9/11 catastrophy to take place shortly afterwards? Surely their hopes were shattered when they saw the planes coming towards them or people falling past their windows shortly afterwards? Or what about those survivors of the London bombings on the 7th July 2005. I'm sure many of those people had CHOSEN to have a good day. But then something, which was outside of their influence turned their 'good day' into an extremely bad, nightmarish day.
On the flip side of the coin you could choose your day is going to be a bad one and then you could bump into an old friend you haven't seen in years.

The movie "What the bleep do we know" claims it is possible. According to the movie you have to wake up and "create" your day, basically say to yourself what your going to do and accomplish that day ect., however the movie also said that it takes time before a person is able to fully create thier day, and thus it mus be a daily ritual of sorts.
I'm not sure how reliable this movie is, but it explains everything with quantam physics. Another interesting note that came from the movie(this has nothing to do with your question though, just something interesting) Is that it is possible to quite literally do anything if one completely devoted 100% of thier mind and body to the task, the movie gave the example of walking on water, unfortunately most humans never use more than 8-12 % of thier brains (according to the movie)
To sum everything up, If you choose to believe the movie (It credits itself as a documentary), then yeah it s possible to choose to have a good day, as well as being able to do anything. The movie itself does contradict itself numerous times, so yeah it's really what you choose to believe.

I don't think you can completely choose to HAVE a good day. I think that it's the way you see the day. Maybe you have a huge exam that day... you can approach this in 2 ways: 1) take the stressor [the exam] and use it as a challenge, going in to take the test you can have positve thoughts. this is also known as optimistic views on life. And 2) take the stressor as a problem, that will only cause more problems. ie: thinking you'll do bad. This would be the pessimistic view. You can use those 2 examples and use them in like with any event.

If I have a quiet time in the mornings that includes prayer, I seem to be able to have a better day because I start from a more positive angle.
I also can learn to choose my actions in each situation, rather than to just react to what happens....part of doing this is to pause during the day and think about what the options are when something happens.
If things seem to be getting out of control...a few minutes off by myself can help me to get calm...and praying again can also help.
It also helps me to think about things I am grateful for....A Grateful Heart Heals The Soul....
Being grateful you have a job...even if it is boring...might be a starting place for gratitude.

Of course it's possible to choose to have a good day.
You and only you control your emotions. No one can make you feel bad except you! As for your job, look at it from a different angle. Try new things to accomplish your tasks. CHALLENGE yourself. If you're bored, it's no one's fault but yours. Rather than thinking of your job as being boring and impossible, be thankful that you have a job, and look for new ways to do your job. Think of all the displaced workers because their companies have downsized, or moved away from them. Always look for the silver lining................the cup cannot runneth over if it's half empty rather than half full!! Good luck!

Research has shown that in many cases, our emotions can be controlled by persopnal choices. For example, if i am worried about my midterm exam, my relationship, and my huge research project coming up, that can really stress me out. However, if I focus on the good times I have with friends and my girlfriend, then life becomes a little brighter. IF one good thing happens all day, it is a good day.
