I am serious. I really want to know if you want to quit. I watched my mother suffer for a few years before she finally passed away at 61. I watch other people stand in the rain and cold, just to smoke. Smoking is very hazardous. That fact is indesputable. Smokers seem to get a thrill from telling me that it's easier to quit CRACK, then to give up smoking. Why is it so acceptable ? It is a serious drug addiction, but parents let their kids smoke . Why ?

I already have. But apparently you do not understand that it is an addiction. It IS harder to give up than even heroin, a fact that you don't seem to get. Smokers know all of the health risks. They have been told over and over by people like you and on television and everywhere else. They are addicted. It is a choice to quit. The right choice, yes, but a choice nonetheless. It can be done. I've done it myself. My mom has smoked my whole life and probably will till the day she dies. Some things in life you just need to learn to accept.

Yes, I do, but I'm not ready yet. I know that my answer doesn't make sense to you, but it will to other smokers. You can wish the addiction away all you want, but doing it is very difficult, and if you are not 100% committed to quitting, it's not going to happen.

Acceptable? Where do you live? Anymore it is quite unacceptable to most people.

i don't have an answer for all your ?
but if you want to quit, do it cold turkey.
my father did after smoking in his 50's ,he's now in his 70's.
he smoked 4-5 packs a day. it was hard. but he did it.
now with that said the damage was already done.
but after the withdrawls ,he said he felt better then he has in years.
GOOD LUCK, YOU CAN DO IT.
