I am for legal immigration.

I am in favor of legal immigration. Illegal immigration is bad for business, bad for the immigrants and bad for the government.

The US needs immigrant labor there is no doubt about it 'An illegal immigrant can find a job in 11 days, before arriving he was an unemployed at home' (NPR 10/18/06) and legal immigration benefits everyone.

For many years the US government has neglected the immigration issue until it has escalated to huge proportions. The government needs to create ways to improve the legal immigration routes and stop illegal immigration.

Mr Bush just signed a bill that will finance the building of a fence. It ain't gonna cut it, Britain has a natural moat around it and still hundreds of illegal immigrants make it there every year. Now let me ask you, has there been any increase in the INS or IRS budgets to hire more agents who could go busting meat packers, farms, restaurants, bars and hotels where employers pay cash to avoid taxes? No (That's how illegal immigrants get their first jobs) Have they increased the qouta of H1-B (work permit) visas for the year 2007? No.

For. Immigration is essential to the growth of any country, and if you're not growing, you're dieing. In America, the entire concept of legal/illegal immigration stems from racism. The imigration laws were passed to try and deter certain ethnicities that were thought to be bad for America, at the time. THese have been in turn, the polish, the irish, spaniards, chineese, and now we're back to spaniards in the form of mexicans.

I can already see the criticism posts, I'll respond pre-emptively. This is not opinion, but historical fact. The law makers of the day are on record as to the reasons for the immigration laws. If you don't beleive me, look it up for yourself.

I'm for legal immigration, that's how my family came here way back in 1914. Illegal immigrants, however, should be sent back to where they came from. It is insulting to me that my family came here legally and had to go through tons of red tape and learn english, but we now learn spainsh and compensate (medically and governmentally) for illegals.

It would be a bit stupid to be against immigration because no one would be in America if that was so.

Legal immigrantion is fine. I like diversity. it'll be too boring with just one culture and race.
