Honestly, if you even mention that business with Occidental Petroleum and the Elk Hills oil fields, Gore's supporters get awfully angry with you. Why do you suppose that is?

When I was at Elk Hills, I didn't see Occidental or Gore. What I saw was for two weeks all the oil wells down on the flats to the east of there went into full production, something you almost never see. I asked about it and was told there was going to be a "shortage" of crude in a week. Sure enough a week later all the pumps stopped, all the storage facilities were brim-full, and it was announced that gas prices had to go up because "production is down".

There is nothing that goes on with the price of oil that is as advertised by the industry or it's fee simple politicians of both parties.

I did not know there was such a thing as a Gore supporter.

His family history of being Southern Plantation Owners and Slave traders caused me to shun him years ago.

Because people try to make it the same as Bush. Being and investor in an oil company is not the same. I just added a fund to my IRA that invests in oil companies. However, when your in power and you bow to the oil companies and do everything they want...that is the difference.
