With 1500 new viruses and spyware added to the internet every month, there is no program that will protect you against everything out there. Keep that in mind.

Pc-Cillian is an excellent program. As good as any other you can purchase.

Since the detection and removal, for Anti-Virus program, are standardized the important thing to consider is the Update services. If the program is not updated regularly it will not protect you very well. I use Computer Associates and it updates at least once a day (usually more often).

You can use only one AV program, but, can and should use more than one Anti-Spyware program. I recommend at least 3 that provide full time protection. I use Windows Defender Beta 2, SpywareBlaster(only blocks malware), and AVG Antispyware (this is the new name for the old ewido program). The AVG AS must be purchased to get the full time protection after the 30 day trial. It is well worth the $29.95 I paid. I have five others that I use for scans on a regular basis. I also use the free online scan at Trend Micro once a month.

Sounds like overkill doesn't it? Well, it's not. Here is an article that came out recently about what is in store for us in the way of Malware infections. This means that major change will need to be made in most AS and AV programs to stop them.
