the funny thing is that what is now "trendy" is to say that you hate starbucks and never go there. i discovered 2 coworkers who always go on and on about how they hate starbucks and never drink their coffee, sitting outside of one, both with cups, chatting on a sunday morning. i really enjoyed spreading the tale of their hypocrisy around the office. while the price of starbucks beverages makes it impossible for me to drink one every day, i do enjoy them several times a week. i dont like those silly frappucino drinks, but i do like the espresso drinks and teas. i dont consume beverages because that is the "in" thing to do. i dont give a damn what others drink. if something tastes good to me, i enjoy it. if it doesnt, i avoid it. simple as that.

Starbucks is consistent. I can go to a Starbucks in NYC and in Richmond, VA and its the same coffee. Also I can get soy milk in my coffee instead of a snarky look. Also I dont need to make a trip to the ATM just so I can buy a cup of coffee from the indie coffee shop down the street and then get a snarky look when I ask for soy milk, hence making two trips to get a snarky look and something that is less than what I really want.

Never had a cup of Starbucks coffee, but if I were going to pay that much for coffee, Starbucks treats their employees well, and I respect that

It's something I'll never understand. I make better coffee at home using whole bean Kona. I save tons of money by NOT going to Starbucks. Guess those that do are either filthy rich and not letting on, don't care about the high prices they pay, too lazy to make their own at home or they're just lemmings to the mainstream. It's a phenomenon for sure.
Have a great day!!!

It is real coffee, and they have variety and all are good at least for my taste, expensive but good. I know for sure that is real coffee because from my town in Catchup, El Salvador, Central America, the Cascaras Coop. exports coffee to Starbucks

The atmosphere.
It is so prevalent now that people stop by without thinking of going somewhere else. They have too much disposable income.
That and people have bad taste.
