I understand that playing the game, entertaining people is their job and they should get paid. But the ridiculous amounts of money they get paid is just an insult to all the people who have jobs that actually make a difference in people's lives. The educators that taught these people to play and develop their skills should reap the benefits of their success. Teachers, armed forces, police officers, firefighters (especially after 9/11) should be better compensated for what they do. Their jobs actually put them in harm's way and they do it because they love it, because saving people is what they love to do. Well most of them anyway. If you're going to pay a musician millions of dollars for an album, what about the music teacher that taught him to play? What about the high school football/basketball coaches who yelled from the sidelines? What about the high school drama teachers that directed some of these famous people before became stars? I'm just saying.

People in professions earn what the market can bear to pay them. Most musicians / actors / atheletes do not make huge salaries. But let's face it, we're willing to pay the ticket prices that support these salaries (As well as advertising fees on the networks)

Some doctors make really huge salaries, Dentists, authors (Steven King, Dan Brown e.g.) Look at business... Bill Gates, etc.

If you disagree with the salaries of these people, in a capitalist society, how would you recommend we change things? Do away with professional sports, allow only government sponsord music? Government caps on payroll? Then we're back into comunism.

Honestly, No. I feel they make WAY too much money. Although I agree that Doctors, Firefighters, Police, Teachers, ect. should definately be paid more...the kind of money they (actors, musicians, sports figures) make is too much for any profession. There are too many others out there who work very hard and can't make ends meet.

Yes, i believe we should make that kind of money also. They don't really work as hard as we do at our regular jobs. Why is it different for them? I know why cause they are stars. There are so many people in this world that would love to be a star, actor, singer, etc. and they never make it. Why cause this is a world where there is a small chance for every single one of us. When your parent/s are stars they can get there children into whatever they want. So, no I honestly don't think it's fair!

Hell No ... never thought those people should make so much money, sports, movies, music ... when I was in the military it would drive me insane ... couldn't believe I was giving my life to my country for what - $650 dollars a month ... I don't think so ... lol ... I think Military, Teachers, Cops, Firemen, Doctors ... people that make a difference in others lives should be paid more ... not because they're good looking and can hold a tune ... that's not very useful in my life ... !!!

I think that all of the above are OVERpaid. It seems as though the harder you work physically, (not 20 some 2 1/2 hour football games in 5 months), the less you get paid. I'm talking about blue collar laboring jobs. It's a shame.

I think everyone should make enough money to provide for their families, be comfortable and enjoy life. I think sports figures are ridiculously overpaid. We have kids in this country without shelter or food or medical care! It's a shame.

No, I do not. There are people that work like slaves to do a good
job, an important job and they don't make much more than the
minimum wage. It is sad that these people make millions and most of the time they probably don't even appreciate it.
