I am a junior in college, and my major is finance. I'm not for total sure what I want my future career to be, but I recently was thinking about a Financial Manager. I like to make budgets and manage money so I figure this would be good for me. So basically my questions are: what other tasks do financial managers do? and based on my interests, does this sound like a career for me?

Most fiance major ended up in financial analyst jobs. A lot of companies and certainly all the financial institutions need a lot of financial analyst.

Primary responsibilities of a typical financial analyst is to
- research
- gather data
- analyze data using various modeling techniques and softwares
- make projections of potential outcomes
- identify potential risks and propose ways to mitigate risks
- make presentations of your findings

A great majority of finance major will not get to make budgets or manage money. It could happen, and most likely be with small firms.

Best wishes.
