This sounds stupid but I've just signed up to ebay sellers' account. Will they charge me if I don't sell anything, let's say ona monthly basis?

if you put an item up for sale, you still have to pay the price for listing.

EBay only charge you if you list items. Ebay is free if all you do is buy stuff, but as soon as you start listing items they will take your money. This happens in two ways - they charge you for LISTING an item, then charge you COMMISSION if it sells. Ebay can't lose really !
But having the account is free if you never sell.

They will not charge you any account fees for having the account and no activity.

They will charge you listing fees for any item you list on e-bay, regardless of wether the item sells.

They will charge you selling fees based on the final selling prices of any items, and this will be on top of the precharged listing fees.

Yes you are charged for everything you LIST on eBay...if you don't have anything listed...then there is no charge...for now. Go to the sellers tutorial on the eBay site and it will explain things more in depth.

They charge you to put your advertisements on Ebay. If you sell, they then take a small percentage. If you don't sell, you can relist and if you sell it the second time round, they refund your 2nd advertisement fee.

Insertion Fees
Starting or Reserve Price Insertion Fee
£0.01 - £0.99 = £0.15
£1.00 - £4.99 = £0.20
£5.00 - £14.99 = £0.35
£15.00 - £29.99 = £0.75
£30.00 - £99.99 = £1.50
£100.00 or more = £2.00

Note: Stated eBay fees include 17.5% VAT for residents of the United Kingdom. Usually invoices sent to you will quote fees with VAT included.

Hope that helps. Sorry, if your not in the UK.
