"A cold, treated, goes away in 3 days. An untreated cold takes 72 hours to resolve."
Frustrating, but still pretty much true. I'd suggest plenty of fluids (to help you stay hydrated; hot drinks **seem** to help break up mucus and soothe the throat for most people---tea, hot lemonade, chicken soup). Plenty of rest is always a good move. Over the counter cough drops (or hard candies, in a pinch) can help ease an irritated throat.
For the sniffles and runny nose, lots of tissues, because most of the over-the-counter aids DO knock one down and cause drowsiness. Remember to wash your hands a lot!---handwashing is the best and most effective way to break the chain of infection and keep germs from spreading.

Plenty of fruit juices and warm drinks along with "Vicks Vaporub or Inhaler" to relieve stuffiness. That is the simple and best remedy for a common cold. â¥

The BEST is Alka Seltzer Plus. It works very quickly and you can get it in orange flavor.

The one thing that always fixes me is chicken noodle soup, sprite, and nyquil(when you're going to bed, of course). I don't know why---it just always works.
