Between the ages of 12 and 23, it was almost guaranteed that I would miss a period... I would get my period anywhere between 1 and 3 months late. I was NOT pregnant. I had to go on birth control pills so I can have "regular" cycles. It was a hormonal issue and the pills helped balance out my hormones.

My non-normal cycles were also due to me being underweight (NOT anorexic) and athletic. Believe it or not, being underweight causes missed periods, so does being athletic. It has to do with bodily stress.

Once I stopped using the pill, my cycle went off kilter, again. It wasn't until I had my first child that my period came on a monthly basis.

So, it is "normal" in a sense that it does happen, but talk to your physician (gynecologist) and see what he/she recommends you do.

Best to you!

i've been to the doctor about this alot and they tell me that it is normal and that i have an irregular cycle ..doesnt mean that ur pregnant just means that ur body hasnt gotten used to a specific time table for ur period.. u could just wait it out and let it come when it does or u could get on the birth control pill and that will help because when ur on the pill it gives u a specific day and everything but also with the pill it will take about a month to regulate ur cycle and for ur body to get used to the pill

Not all women have a 28 day cycle. It sounds like you have a 56 day cycle. If you're concerned about it, see a doctor. I wouldn't worry about it though.

ive started having irregular periods for the past 2 years now was always like clockwork until then the dr told me it was because of inbalanced hormones i even had a dnc thinking that would correct it but it didnt so i would say its nothing to really worry about as long as you are sure your not pregnant

depends on how old you are. Right now im 15 and sometimes i won't have a period for like three or four months and my doctors keep telling me its normal. So youre probably fine.

Irregularities do happen and can be caused by several things, including stress or even fibrosis. If you're a good girl, don't think pregnancy. Check out the following and then seek professional help, if necessary:
