Well Tammy or who ever you are you could have just by passed my question. I was not asking about interracial relationships anyway. I asked about something that I hear people complaining about, and I don't feel the same as those people... I wanted to know why they feel the way they do ...so you can take your ***** attitude else where

Okay I guess I can see why some people would be kinda of offended when someone is trying to go all the waaaaaay back just to say that they are mixed.. Yeah if it is your great great great great grandfather it really doesn't make sense

Most black americans are not just black. Take me for example. I'm considered black because I have brown skin and ethnic features. But, I'm mixed Inuit indian/Eskimo, Dominican, French, Black Foot indian, Saudi Arabian, and white. That's just in my immediate family.
I agree with you when you say some black people get upset because you are proud to be mixed. It like they want you to just embrace being black, and forget about your other heritage roots.
I embrace every race in my family, and I love learning about each of my cultures.

Some blacks only get offended when the person "Boasts" about being "mixed" with some other, lighter race. I see and hear it all the time, it cracks me up. If the person is making a general statement of their heritage, I would not be mad because that is who they are, but then I'd have to ask: "Who cares what you're mixed with?"

Alot of blacks do this (explain that they're mixed with whatever race/ethnicity) because whether they wish to admit it or not, they see this as a 'get out of jail free' card, so to speak. Deep down they want to be seen 'different' or to be liked better by non-blacks. I am not saying that this is always the case though. My mother was mixed with native american, black and white but she always said she was a black woman.

Omg, I don't know if it's because I'm just a ***** today or what but I'm sick of hearing about RACES !! Can't we just get over that sh!t ?! Interracial relationships are fine, I don't care, I'm in one myself. Both of my children are mixed and if people can't accept that well then that's too bad. I hear about this race stuff all the time .. black are hating blacks and Natives are hating Natives for mixing ! It doesn't matter. We all laugh, we all cry, we all smile, we are all just human beings.

I agree with the previous answerer in saying that, in such an instance, many Blacks do feel that the Black culture is somehow being dismissed. I, for one, feel that you should be able to celebrate in any and all cultures that you are a part of.

i think its that 2% rule..if you have any black in you even if its a small amount than your black. it's also just people being closed minded. i hear it all the time. i've even heard people say, yes halle berry is black, but mariah carey is white, even though they have the same genetic make-up. some people are just very closed minded and its sad. it could be jealousy too

Tiger Woods pissed me off. Where is he getting all this white from. Are his grand parents white? Great grandparents? Fool, he is black and Korean...........
My god, my grand mothers grand father was Scottish but that DOES NOT make me mulatto!!!! I think if you start digging back 4 and 5 generations just to say you are not fully black but do have white blood so you're mixed - SIX GENERATIONS BACK then yes...You hate being black!!!!!

I guess they don't realize that people like to know their heritages to know where they have been in order to know where they are going in life. I agree with anyone who wants to know their background.
