Well, you won't be needing all those emmision parts if you just run a straight pipe...can I assume this won't be going thru inspection any time soon?? It will sound better too...

The short answer is no, the long answer is, 1 it is illegal, 2 you pollute more, but 3, the power-train control module has acceleration attack curves and fuel curves for your Camaro WITH the converter. Take the converter off and you change back pressure which changes the the most efficient curves which then make it more INefficient. If you can figure out new curves and program into your PCM, that would give more HP.

If you make those proposed changes you will not be able to register your car. Of course you will get better performance if you remove the catalytic converter, The Oxygen sensors are set for peak performance. No need to fool with them. If you plan on restoring you converter in order to pass a smog check, I don't see a problem.

Your performance will increase, although the only thing you can physically notice is in the sound. The catalytic converter is restrictive, so it will allow for better exhaust flow. You will not pass emissions though. As for the o2 sensors, you will definitely set off the check engine light, but that also doesn't sound like a concern.

Unless you also disconnect the computer, which would mean installing an older distributor, and replacing your fuel-injection with a carburator, the car will run like crap. Besides, NOT having a converter on that car is illegal, not to mention the extra pollution.
It's not like your V6 Camaro is a hot rod or something...leave the converter on.

You may have some or no improvement. It may even run worse because your computer is designed to work with the back pressure the car was built with. The only thing that is sure is that you will be increasing pollution.

you will NOT feel any different if you remove the converter. you can not disconnect the oxygen sensor.the computer need this sensor to control the fuel mixture which give you the most horsepower.

no cut it off right after the collector go to the parst store and get a adapter so you can get bigger pipe and run 2 inch or 2.5 inch that will let it breath

most cars it is dyno proven to maybe add 1-2 hp hardly noticable.
i unhooked my exhaust before the cat conv. at the dragstrip and ran 14.70 and i ran complete exhaust and ran 14.70 several different times. your preference i guess.
if you are on stock motor you probably wont see any gains with straight pipe

dunno if you will get better performance, depends on how clogged your converter is. but don't get caught with it off! Its an epa violation and you can be fined for it!..
It should not cause any problems with Oxy sensors as long as your exhaust is clean, if it does, just unhook them.
