Kiss The Girls - James Patterson.
This is actually the second of a series of 10 books with the character Detective/Psychologist Alex Cross. It motivated me to go back and read the first book, and then the entire series. There is a new book set to come out in November.

Many good suggestions were already given to you, covering many subjects and tastes. I would like to add Alice Walker's "The Color Purple". You will laugh and cry and it will go by fast. On a completely different note, you might try Christopher Rice, yes Anne Rice's son. "Density of Souls" & "The Snow Garden". Happy reading!

Marley and Me, I laughed so hard I nearly cried. It took me only 2 days to finish.
Another true and hilarious story about a family dog is A dog's Life by Mayle. The Locket by Evans and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy are also page turners.

SEARCH FOR THE SUN by Ellen Anthony
Really good mystery. One of my friends said she was afraid to leave her computer even to go to the bathroom for fear the computer would crash and she wouldn't get to read the end. She bought the ebook. I bought the paperback so I could take it with me!
This is the only mystery I know where the villain is caught and kills himself before you know everything he did. The book just kept on going. Really riveting. I felt sorry for the queen.
You can do a search for reviews. There's plenty.

I love "Never Let Them See You Cry". It's by a crime writter in Miami. It's was so good, I couldn't put it down. Also, "How The Irish Saved Civilization" and "The Bone Collectors Daughter". Have you read the Harry Potter books, I adore them and can't put them down.

There is an older book out there written by the comedian Allen Sherman called Rape of the A.P.E. (which stands for American Puritan Ethnic). Excellent book and he tries to explain what went wrong in America to cause so much dissension. If you can find it.
