Yes, they can stay just friends...It comes from a mutual respect for the friendship you share that is unique and rewarding that only other mature individuals can relate too..It also comes from the knowledge of "Once you fool around, your friendship will not ever be the same" and eventually you may even loose that..It has been known to happen.. Best to you, always. Hope it helped.

I am 38 and have been best friends with a guy for 20 years. You got it, 20! We have been in and out of touch over the years due to marriages and relationships, but we have always remained close. Yes, he would have liked more in the past, probably still does. The years have taught us that our friendship is more important than risking the end of it by pursuing a relationship with each other. We are currently both single and there is nothing there but a close bond. He calls me when he needs me and I call him too. We can always count on each other when all the others let us down. It's a great relationship and I would not change. We do say we will marry if we have no one by the age of 60. By the way, he is a year younger than me.

Cool topic! now I agree with you in that if there is an age gap then ok. But there is just somthing within me that tells me eventually these friends will have some kind of feelings for this person. Its all whether or not each person has the will power to not act on it or talk about their fellings and move forward in what ever way they choose.

Here is the rules 1)a guy fights another guy, they can become friends 2)a girl fights another girl, they become enemy for the rest of their lives Plus, guys are not complicated compare to girls, they are less gossip and they don't hide their opinions

Either one, the other, or both will at some point develop feelings for eachother and this will also go for those with massive age differences.

There's got to be absolutely no physical attraction between the both of them. I'm trying to stay friends with one of my guys, but it's not easy. Every once in awhile I have to distance myself because we are an extremely good match - and it will get under my skin that we're not an item. (We can't get together because his friend "claimed" me first - expressed interest, that is - and the guy I match up with is devoted to his boys.)

I have a lot of guy friends who I dont click with on a romantic level. You can stay friends as long as one of people dont develop feelings any stronger than that.
