After they broke up, he went to the park where they went to on their first "date" and he looked at the plaques and realized that on of them had Alice's name on it. He then realized that she made up the name that day when they first met. Then when "Alice" is in the airport and they show her passport it says her name is actually Jane. Remember how Jude Law wanted to see her passport picture and she said she never showed anyone. It was because she didn't want him to see her real name. Also, when she is in the strip bar stripping for Clive Owen, the doctor, he demands to know her real name and she tells him it is Jane and he doesn't believe her.

Natalie Portman's character lied to Law about her name....He found the name that she gave him on one of the plaques in the park....she lied to him the entire time she was there.

If you look at the plaque he was looking at, it has her name on it. Or atleast the name she had been going by this whole time. Meaning she had lied to him this whole time about her name, and who knows what else.

he realizes everythink natalie portman had told her was a lie .. she had created an identity off of the information of the plaques on that wall.. so she was just as deceptive as him.. but much more subtle..
