hiccups are repetative and felt everywhere. Kicks and puches are more erratic and more concentrated in location. They follow less of a pattern

The only way I can tell the difference between hiccups and kicks is how long they last. At first for the first 30 seconds hiccups feel just like kicks so I'll just assume the baby is moving, but then I'll notice a pattern and if I can predict when the next little bump is I know she's hiccuping. Just like when you can tell the pattern of your hiccups, your baby's hiccups will be bump pause bump pause.. ect.

You usually first begin to feel the baby move around 15-19 weeks. It feels very subtle and fluttery, almost like butterflies in your belly. Hiccups are usually felt later on, when your baby is bigger, and you will know the difference, because hiccups are in a rythmic pattern. You'll feel a little thump every 10 seconds or so. Kicks are stronger. And you are right, btw, feeling your baby move is pretty awesome no matter what it is they're doing in there.

You probably feel the baby start to move. Hiccups cannot have that much impact when you are just 19 weeks. Kicks are more prodominate in later weeks. When my daughter had hiccups I got nervous because it would happen all the time. I finally had my check up and they told me at 7 months that they were hiccups and she was most likely sucking on her thumb. THEY DO FEEL DIFFERENT>.. Good luck

They feel very different, especially later on.
The kicks feel just like you've described, short bumbs. But the hiccups are more like rythmic jolts, and they can last for a long time! My son got hiccups nearly everyday, and sometimes it would go on for a half hour!
It doesn't really matter, but it's fun to feel anyway.

My baby had hiccups all the time (still does). You can tell the difference, at leat I could. The hiccups are more even, kicks are more random. But you're right, no matter what you are feeling it's great! Congratulations!

Yes its awesome. You will be able to tell the difference when the baby gets bigger. The hiccups are somewhat rhythmic too. Whereas kicks are more sporadic.

hiccups are generally more rhythmic, like your own. They will come at regular intervals and last for a few minutes. Kicks and punches are more intermittent.
I can't WAIT to feel my baby move!!!

That early along its probably just kicks. They kick REALLY fast.
hiccups are spaced out a little, just like if you had them, and go on for minute after minute after minute.
My guy doesnt get the hiccups, or hasnt yet. But my fiends both had them crazy with their kids.
