i do not care if i appear prejudiced or not. I need to know why some need to constantly try to harm others

I had Psychiatrist tell me that a lot mentally ill people have a problem with gay people. I am serious.
I was discussing with a doctor client about coming out to family member who is mentally disabled and the Psychiatrist said a lot mentally disabled people have a problem with homosexuality. They recommended not coming out to this family member.
High IQ people are more open and less threatened by differences in people.

Probably both. They were raised by prejudiced parents or grew up with friends who were, and they hold on to those feelings because it makes them feel better about themselves.

Since most people are taught to hate, it is a social condition.. sort of like a social disease, but much less fun to acquire and much harder to overcome.
Parents, churches, peers all play a part in brain washing people into hating others. (not all parents, not all churches and certainly not all peers are guilty of this.. ) The trick is to make sure you are not one that teaches hate.

Well, if you are asking that, I guess that you are trying to say that you are not prejudice against anyone or anything and that you accept everyone.
However, by looking at the way you ask your question, that shows that you are in fact prejudice against those who are prejudice. So you might want to look at yourself before you start pointing the finger.

It is odd that a few people of each group (gays / homophobes ) seem to speak for the whole group. No one wants to hear a homophobe shout slurs to gays , and no one wants to hear a flamer parade around shaking his butt.

Heteros that speak their mind. (Also know as homophobes for the intolerant gays) are branded with names like bigot, small minded, mentally ill, etc.
It is no different than calling folks rump rangers, ***, mentally sick, etc.
