I beleive I first heard it in the opening of a song called "Wang Chung tonight" but I think it's much older. When did this phrase first appear in written form? Who wrote it and what does it mean?

"Hooked on a Feeling", by Jonathan King, 1971 (later covered by Blue Swede, 1974)

Ouga chaka ouga ouga
ouga chaka ouga ouga
ouga chaka ouga ouga
ouga chaka ouga ouga ....

I can't stop this feeling
Deep inside of me.
Girl, you just don't realize
What you do to me.
When you hold me
In your arms so tight,
You let me know,
Everythings alright, ahahah

I'm hooked on a feeling,
I'm high on believing,
That your in love with me.

Actually, I did some research. Turns out the "ooga chaka" part was lifted from an earlier song, Johnny Preston's "Running Bear", written in 1959.

It was taken into a song about Indians (Little Bear?) in the 1950's from the old Algonquin phrase "oo ga chuk" which meant beaver dam.

I'm thinking it was Blue Suede's Hooked on a Feeling. possibly heard it on one of those infomercials for 70's music.
