Should I complain to the council? I've asked the hospice staff to stop the loud music and frivolity and they accused ME of having no community spirit, I'm outraged.

Is this question for real ???

A local hospice is there to serve a purpose and we all know what that purpose is.......people go in there to pass away peacefully and with dignity.

I am surprised anyone would want the closure of a hospice. These places are special and needed. If your question is true in its content then Environmental Health could do checks to see if the hospice is as noisy as you say.

In law you have a right to the quiet enjoyment of your property. Inthe first instance you should write to the authority that are responsible for the hospice. If you get no luck then consult a solicitor.

You might have a case in the tort of nuisance.

Hope this helps

Sounds to me you are just uncomfortable with a hospice near you - not the noise. A lot of people fear death, and are uncomfortably around the dying. This place is doing wonderful work - allowing people to die with dignity - and you should be helping them, not trying to close them down.

Understand that a hospice is a place people come to die, if there is loud music get over it, people deserve to die the way they feel like

I'm hoping you are not always as selfish as you sound right now. Get over it, it's a freakin' hospice for goodness sake.

people are spending their last days of life there... just let them enjoy it. maybe talk to the hospice about maybe setting a time where they could turn the music down. but dont try to shut them down.
