but, I will have to say.. .im a total cracker barrell fan.. always have, always will..and I get ignored in Cracker Barrell. ... it isn't a white thing, it isn't a black thing.. its just how crackerbarrell is. AND i have the guts to flag someone down, not just have the expectation that everything in the world works perfectly. Perhaps they didn't have a server at that table, and she was accidentally sat there. Grow up. I want to hear opionions...don't worry -- ill fire back at people that are rude.. becuase I know this will turn in to a white/black issue just because people like to complain

Anyone, white, black or green, who sits in a restaurant for 30 minutes without getting noticed and doesn't either walk out or go ask for some service should be discriminated against--for being ignorant.

I have no patience for anyone from any race who assumes racial discrimination in a situation when they do not avail themselves of an opportunity to rectify the situation on its merits.

I guess she thinks just because her son is famous that she should get some kind of royal treatment or something. Everyone has had bad service once in awhile. In cracker barrell most of the people who go there are older so maybe they thought that she would not complain about anything. She needs to let it go and find something eles to harp on.....

Why does the race card get played in the first place. Can't everyone just look at this and not look at the color of the people involved? I can't tell you how many times I've been seated at a table someplace where no server was assigned. I didn't go the manager and tell them I got mistreated because of my color. Someone just screwed up...crap happens.

Why should she grow up, she was done wrong. I don't know if it is for the reason she thinks it is but she has every right to be mad and call who ever she wants to call about it, and hopefully in the future Cracker Barrell will have their **** together so others don't follow the same path as Chris Rock's mom. YEAH I SAID SHE WAS DONE WRONG, before you try to critisize you should look at all the grammatical errors in your little hissy fit paragraph!

I like most of the other answers so far, I would just get up and go to another restaurant myself, AFTER I had gotten someone's attention and still didn't get any service, but here is my reply...

It's not a race thing, it is a 'try to get some easy money' thing...playing the race card in lawsuits is the American Way...in fairness, not just the race card, but any 'discrimination' card and a lawsuit equals easy money...I heard Wesley Snipes has a small back tax bill, maybe she is trying to raise money for him???

The manager tried to make her situation right by offering a free meal.

It sounds like she has a bit of the Hollywood attitude about the situation.

Why would an African American go to a restaurant named "CRACKER Barrell" in the first place?

How about a fact issue instead of an opinion issue? This company has previously been found guilty of racism in their policies. They have been in trouble for hiring policies, and they were until a couple of years ago homophobic as well as racist (they changed that policy).

This is not a good company; they are not community minded. If you want to eat there, that's fine, but they are not the kind of company we want in any decent town.

Why does everything have to be about race? I am wondering how busy that place was, I have had instances where I ended up leaving restaurants that were really busy because we couldnt get service, but we didint scream racism.

I would believe it since it happened in South Carolina. Denny's restaurant chain got in some big trouble for similar things about 15-20 years ago.
