Yes, I've heard of it and seen it in our University Arboretum but other than there I've never seen one in nature or in a nursery. I am a Master Tech in a 13 acre L&G center for 9 yrs and we have never had any for sale.

The scientific name is Elaeagnus multiflora. Maybe you can find something with that name. Good luck!

I have a goumi or gummi berry bush in my back yard. It came from a nursery in Forest Hill, LA. It is quite colorful. Red berries in spring or early summer, back of leaf looks silver. My bush is 2 years old and was full of berries this year. Birds really enjoy them. I have not made jam or jelly but am told that it quite tasty; a little tarty. Quite a conversation piece. Leaves are green round the year.

I have two goumi berry trees. Got them eight years ago at Sherwood's Nursery in Sibley, Louisiana. I think he passed away a couple of years ago. He had a lot of neat plants there and was a very gifted Horticulturist .

My Grandmother had one in Louisiana. The berries were delicious. I moved to Florida and have not seen another tree since.
