I was with my husband for 6 years before he proposed. We knew we'd get married but he wanted to make sure we were stable. We bought a house and got all our finaces in place first. It was worth the wait. We've been married for 2 years now.

My initial thought is that after four years, you should both be ready to commit. However, your ages also factor into the decision. Are you still in school? College? If you are both adults with careers, I would say "fish or cut bait".

Two years. By then you should have experienced most of each others cycles. If they can still hold a lie past that, they're either really good or someone isn't paying attention.
