I think they are required to show it at most commercially owned theaters. Now alot of private theaters won't. I have gone in late or on holidays when there is very little buisness, and they still be showing the movie, so, yes they normally run the movie, even if no one is there, because someone may show up at anytime.

it depends on the theatre's revinues according to the amount of people they need for a showing to make money. Mine are 4 people need to buy tickets fot the theatre to break even. If no people buy tickets then i would imagine the theatre would save the electricity

At my theater, yes, we have to show it. I work in the projection booth and have done this before. I got caught by the higher ups for not showing the film and they said it was not a good idea to do that. We roll them regardless because someone may show up late.

Well... seeing as though no one bought a ticket.. the only person that could answer that is the workers at the movies.

once I went to the cinema with a friend and there was a man and the two of us and they showed the movie.
but if absolutely nobody buys an entrance, showing the movie to the air, would be just stupid

It's hard for a movie to sell NO tickets especially in big cities.

yes because what if someone shows up late , like a friend of mine does 90% of the time
Plus they have other times for the movies so they have to keep it all on track
