Surviving Antarctica: Reality TV 2083 by Andrea White is a great book I just finished this week. I believe it is a 2005 book.
Rash by Pete Hautman is another great book that I've read somewhat recently (August).
And if you like vampire fiction (all YA titles) I recommend Twilight and the sequel New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Peeps by Scott Westerfeld, and its sequel Last Days. And Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a great book, holds your attention and not real long. It is about a young man from a well to do family that hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness. He gave $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet and invented a new life for himself. Four months later, his body was found by a moose hunter.......

Just read Cane River, its really good. I like somewhat fact based type books. Its about 5 generations of slave women in Louisiana. Two thumbs up! Also the book, "The 5 People You Meet In Heaven", its kinda simple and short but very good.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell was fabulous, and it's one of my newest favorites. Also recently read The Little Friend which I liked a lot too though it's more character-driven than plot-driven.
