why cant everyone get along in the world?

Because humans are selfish by nature. So they want to take things from others so they will have more for themselves.

I would say a lot of nations can not get along because of a couple of reasons. The main one being religion. Different religious groups believe theirs is the one true religion and everything else is wrong and bad. When you see others as infidels and worthless dogs just because they are of a different religion then you know religion has a lot to do with it.
Secondly, I would say jealousy. This comes in two parts. Those with wealth and natural resources and those who just seem to have a better life... the two often go hand in hand.
I think we were designed not to get along. We were designed to war with others so the strong survive... an evolutionary thing... also it would seem it is to help keep the population down by wars...

I think we could only get along if we believed in the same thing and had the same lifestyle. Otherwise jealousy and conflict will always raise it's ugly head...

What a good question that's why I gave you a thumbs up. But to answer it is a lot more difficult than people think, it could be greed, power, ignorance, a multitude of things including religion, but it would be wonderful to travel this world without fear for ones life, and get on with everyone ignoring creed, colour, race, or persuasion, but for you or I it will remain a dream until people can do the above. but you can try in your own little way I do.

Are you kidding? When I was a kid I had 3 teenage siblings and even they couldn't get along all the time...how do you expect everyone in the world to get along? I think it is an unrealistic expectation.

Because Humans are Animals... Therefore we Have Greed and Jealosy. These lead to conflict and problems. Should you want to remove emotions from people then you'll need somebody like the thought police (1984) or the Priesthood (Equilibrium) to enforce the emotionless state (and it'd be no fun!)

we can all get along as long as we are all given the same rights i went to a muslem country a cuple of times this year and my wife and her friends dressed not to offen and we adhered to the law of the land we didn,t try and change it when we where there
