I thought I just had allergies, but I've been running a low grade temp and I feel just awful. I can't keep anything down, no water, no meds, no crackers, no ginger, even the candies make me dry heave......how will I know if I'm getting dehydrated? and how long does it take? My doctor has been called several times today but he's apparently been delivering babies since this morning and they haven't been able to reach him.....when should I get worried?

Frequently, but it's dark colored and not much even though it feels like I should be releasing a waterfall.

No sweating
Previous pregnancy resulted in preterm delivery at 29 weeks because of infection also.
See why I'm a little panicked?

First of all, why are you vomiting so much? Do you have food poisioning ? Do you have abdominal pain? If so, go to the ER now.
Excessive thirst is a big symptom of dehydration, as is very dark yellow-colored urine. Also, if you pinch the skin on the back of your hand, it stays pinched for several seconds.
Other symptoms include dry mouth, sunken eyes, reluctance to drink, inability to pass urine or cry tears, high fever, lethargy, confusion, cold hands and feet, rapid and weak pulse, rapid breathing.
You should sip on Gatorade or other electrolyte-replacement drinks. If you can't keep water and Gatorade down, go to the E.R. They will give you intravaneous fluids. If you have vomited many times and have been doing so for a day, go to the E.R.

My best friend became dehydrated in Alaska she had to be taken to the emergency room where they pumped her full of fluids through an I.V. for the first 48 hours after her release she had to drink gatorade those big bottles the 48 oz bottles or however large they are that is all she could have then for 10 days she had to eat a B.R.A.T. diet which is Bannanas Rice Apple Sauce and Toast... I have no idea why they had her only eat these things but to this day she can't stand apple sauce. I found the following information on
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dehydration/DS00561/DSECTION=2
Signs and symptoms of dehydation
Unfortunately, thirst isn't a reliable gauge of the body's need for water, especially in children and older adults. A better barometer is the color of your urine: clear or light-colored urine means you're well-hydrated, whereas a dark yellow or amber color usually signals dehydration. Other signs and symptoms vary, depending on the degree of dehydration, which may be mild, moderate or severe.
Mild to moderate dehydration is likely to cause:
* Excessive thirst
* Sleepiness or tiredness — children are likely to be less active than usual
* Dry mouth
* Decreased urine output — fewer than six wet diapers a day for infants and eight hours or more without urination for older children and teens
* Few or no tears when crying
* Muscle weakness
* Headache
* Dizziness or lightheadedness
Severe dehydration, a medical emergency, can cause:
* Extreme thirst
* Extreme fussiness or sleepiness in infants and children; irritability and confusion in adults
* Very dry mouth, skin and mucous membranes
* Lack of sweating
* Little or no urination — any urine that is produced will be dark yellow or amber
* Sunken eyes
* Shriveled and dry skin that lacks elasticity and doesn't "bounce back" when pinched into a fold
* In infants, sunken fontanels — the soft spot on the top of a baby's head
* Low blood pressure
* Rapid heart beat
* Fever
* In the most serious cases, delirium or unconsciousness

You poor thing-I felt so sorry for you reading what you are going through! Dehydration will give you a headache, a muzzy feeling, and in the extreme, confusion and flaky skin.You don't say how long you have been like this, if it's just today you should be fine, but if you're still like it tomorrow I think you must insist that you see someone. Keep trying just sips of water. If you do manage to eat something start with dry toast, and avoid milk completely.I do hope you feel better soon, it's wretched.

How far along are you? If you are fairly far along, then dehydration could make you go into labour. I'm pretty sure you are dehydrated, so get to the ER asap! Your dr is an idiot and the nurse should have told you to go there. This is not something that you play with, especially when you are pregnant. You can't go without fluids for more than a few days before dying! (food much longer).

If you havent already go to the ER! I delivered my son at 7 months possibly due to dehydration. Just that you cant keep anything down and your urine is dark and not much is a big sign. If you cant get ahold of your Dr just go. You have every right to be concerned and after the problems I had with my Dr last time I say, mom is always right, listen to your body first and foremost.

dehydration is the loss of water(glucose water)+minerals (salts)from body through swet.
it can be fulfilled through taking salt+sugar stirred in water (better in warm water) with a spoon not the whole amount at once.

You are going to have to drink some fluids whether you can or not. You are already dehydrated.
Any time your pee is dark, or you go more than 8 hours without drinking anything, ESPECIALLY when pregnant, you are dehydrated.
They will probably want to hear back from you in 24 hours and perhaps have you come in for testing and IV fluids.
lay on your left side and drink some cool fluids very very slowly.

Symptoms may include headaches similar to what is experienced during a hangover, a sudden episode of visual snow, decreased blood pressure (hypotension), and dizziness or fainting when standing up due to orthostatic hypotension. Untreated dehydration generally results in delirium, unconsciousness, and in extreme cases death.
If you can't keep anything down besides for getting dehydrated you can get ulcers and destroy your esophagus. You might need iv.

I would try to get in touch with a nurse at your OB and tell them your symptoms.
When I was pregnant with my first I came down with something similar. I went to the hospital and they admitted me and gave me an IV. I was dehydrated.
If you cannot stop vomiting I would go to the ER.
Hope you feel better!
