the underdeveloped country is that one which reveres its cultural history and to such and extent that it suffocates it progressive potential in the process. What do you think, guys?

that´s pretty senseless

Underdeveloped countries are so poor due to their governments, not due to their cultural heritage.

I agree. But giving up your religion and culture for technological improvement is not always a good thing.

Look at what the West did to China.

Sometimes they are. For instance the muslim world used to be far more advanced than the xian world in medieval Europe. While Londoners were in mud huts, muslims in Spain had Paper, medicine, math, astronomy, etc... Then they decided that all answers to everything are in the Koran and began burning "heretical" works. The declined rapidly and today are quite backwards.

There may examples to the contrary, but it makes sense to me.
