Make sure you go for a drive down the strip at night, it is so beautiful (in a tacky way), and in the day. Traffic is bad but it is worth it. When i went i stayed at the Luxor which has an egyptian theme this is a good place to go if you have kids. Excalibur, Treasure ISland, MGM Grand, Circus Cicus and New York NEw York, are all good if you have kids. Mandaly Bay, The Mirage, The Venetian, Bellagio and Monte Carlo are all good for adults. MAke sure you go to a show as they are so amazing and go shopping, as it is so worth it. Enjoy LAs Vegas

Fremont Street is a blast, if you like things a little less extravagant. There is always a party in the streets, the food and the drinks are cheaper, as is the gambling. The people are definately friendlier. We stayed at the Golden Nugget once and it was very nice.

I also loved NY NY. The MOST comfortable beds and pillows. I even emailed them to find out where they purchased them and they responded. FUN. The dueling piano bar is a blast here.

Have fun.

In addition to what "Tinkertoy" has suggested, I would urge anyone going to Vegas to see A New Day. Celine Dion at Caesars Palace.

The strip. The bellagio Fountain show, the MGM lions, well really all the hotels. For an all you can eat buffet try The Luxor.

most people hang on the strip, with all the high-dollar casinos, which are amazing, but make sure you make a stop at fremont street. it's where all the old-school casinos are from back in the day, and it's a lot of fun!
