Our president did not even make a single effort to help devastated Katrina victims in New Orleans in 2005. He just left them to die with their struggle, homelessness, and despair.
But two days ago violent flooding hit most of the Houston area, killing 4 people and closing many roads. Will Bush provide the people of Houston with relief now when they need it, unlike those in New Orleans?
If he doesn't, what will the people in his home state of Texas think?
Even if he does, shouldn't he also do more to finally resolve the troubles in New Orleans?

After reading birdsnake's answer, I almost laughed because of how apparently ignorant she is.
Also, it seems to me that most of your arguements is that Bush did not have to help the New Orleans victims. But then why did he help the ones in Mississippi or Louisiana? The people in New Orleans were receiving ALMOST NO AID from any organization or the govt. And they needed help.

He spent billions of $ helping those in Mississippi and Louisiana. I am not stupid. But YOU are stupid if you think he spent that much helping those in New Orleans. And THAT is what I am talking about.

Had Sen. McCain in difficulty-free words been sixty 8, New Orleans might want to have suffered a similar volume of damage. no man or woman predicted the Federal levee gadget to interrupt down in NO and noone replaced into prepared -- D or R. it is what led to the authentic damage in the city. Even more advantageous hurricanes which have hit Florida reason devastating damage, yet cities are literally not left status in sewage afterword like in NO. NO replaced right into a particular disaster, in part led to by technique of the failed levee gadget and when you consider that elements of it are below sea-element, it truly is about to ensue for a 2d time.

Bush may have dropped the ball a little on the Katrina Disaster, but don't only point the finger at him. Remember that the governor of the state the disaster occurs in must ask the federal government for aid before they can step in and do anything. If you look at the timeline...they did step in when she asked for it...days later. Finger pointing at Bush about Katrina doesn't help solve anything. Maybe if people pointed fingers at ALL of the people that messed up a solution could be brought about. Oh... and for the response I got...I didn't know hatred could be a numerical value. lets have a little equation.
2 terrorists ^2power = 4 terrorists.
(2 terrorists - 1 dead terrorist)^2power = 1 terrorist.

Where do you get off asking that question.
GW might be an idiot and they might have been SLOW to help but they spent BILLIONS of dollars on Katrina.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
If you want to REALLY know the truth you should know that the president and the federal government should have nothing to do with this kind of thing. it should be left to the states and local people, cause government is AWEFUL with their money and they waste it.
ps.. bill clintons admin had even a worse record during disasters but you never heard about it. wonder WHY.

How many BILLIONS of dollars have to be spent in New Orleans until you accept that the federal government - yes George Bush's federal government - has provided more $$ in aid and humanitarian relief than any other natural disaster in the history of our country! You idiot!

People that sit around and wait for the government to take care of them are called "socialists". They live on welfare and take money from all the rest of us because they dont want to work. The people in New Orleans were warned. They were told to leave thier homes. They didn't want to. They chose to ride it out. I'm sorry that they died, but it is not our government who is responsible for them. Too bad the "liberal" leaders of the state they were living in didn't care enough about them to put preventative measures in place. This is not the resposibility of our government. I'm disappointed that you allow yourself to become deluded by everything you read in the papers.
