I am a 24 year old female, who is generally healthy. I am usually not sick that often; however, lately I've been so tired. I have always enjoyed sleeping and require quite a bit of sleep. I can get 7-9 hours of sleep a night, which should be plenty for someone of my age and health; however, I'm so tired. I feel like I only got about 3 hours of sleep. I work alot (fulltime 40 hours per week and teach dance parttime 3 nights a week), so that keeps me busy...but even so, why would I be so tired all the time? Are there any vitamins that I could take that would help? Any diet suggestions? I am within a normal weight, am active...but I know I could be eating better. Not that I'm eating horrible foods for me, but just not foods with tons of nutrients I'm sure. Also, a week and a half ago I had a kidney stone for the first time, of which I'm contributing to what I'm eating, and lack of water.

What are your suggestions?

I just thought I should add. I sleep go to bed around 10-11:30pm and wake up between 6:30-7am. I work a normal 8-5 day. Three nights a week I teach dance from 6-9pm too. So, I am on a normal sleeping schedule. Even on the weekends. I generally feel better with about 10 hours of sleep, but I can't ever get that many. Thank you for the vitamin suggestions. I might see a dietician at my gym about my diet too...I know I should be getting more protein.

Wow...you are busy but still 7-9hrs of sleep/night should be enough. Try taking vitamin B complex. That should help a bit with some fatigue...but I really think you should go to the Dr. You could have chronic fatigue syndrome and they can prescribe a diet and prescription program that can get you back on track. Hope that helps...take care.

First of all you should have a visit with your Medical provider and get just some basic labs done to ensure that your fatigue is not pathological There are many things such as anemia or thyroid issues that can cause some fatigue, and these are very common for women in your age group. Otherwise, it sounds as if you are a little overwhelmed. Taking time to tend to yourself will have a lasting effect on everything you do. Things such as leafy green veggies and complex carbs like whole grains and beans can help add energy to your day and keep you fueled for your dancing. Simple sugars like sodas only add to your fatigue in the end. Vitamin C found in strawberries and citris fruits can also have a positive effect on your energy. Vitamin B12 also has a good effect on the amount of energy you have and may be offered as a injection from your medical provider. There is not a magic vitamin when used alone that will increase your energy, these suggestions are made to be used with a balenced diet.

I am surprised no one brought this up yet. Is there a chance you are pregnant? Another option could be your mattress itself. You are getting plenty of sleep but how much of a restful sleep is it? You probably toss and turn all night and don't even know it. Or you could be waking up frequently, and again, not know it. It is possible to awaken from a deep sleep without actually "waking" up. If you have a very soft mattress, try putting a piece of plywood under it to make it stiffer. If your bed is too hard, try buying a feather bed pillow top. It could also be a hormonal or metabolic imbalance. A trip to the doc and some bloodwork will determine that. Also you have a lot of "good" stress that can play an important factor, try slowing down a bit. Just some suggestions. Good luck.

Im am 23 and had to study alot for past four years. My university was also very far so I had to travel about 1 and half hour each way..I had the SAME problem. Always exsausted.Im guessin that ur sugar level is not what it should be. Actually exsaustion could be a cause of less water intake too.

Low sugar absorption or imbalance in what the body can cause diabetes in the long run bcoz to cover the loss ppl start to take alot of sugar without realizin. Dont do that!!
Go get a check up and ask the DOC .Its a must.
God Bless.

A very tell tell sign of Low Iron is that you feel tiered all the time no matter how much sleep you get. One all natural way to get iron is take beet root. They come in capsules. (Or eat liver)
Another thing it could be is that you are exhausted. It doesnt matter if you get eight hours of sleep, your body for what ever reason has not caught up to a time when you over worked yourself. In this case you need to take a day or two and do absolutely nothing! Sleep! Then you should feel better.

You could have a lack of iron in your body, try taking iron for a few months and see if it helps. Also drink more and maybe change the times you sleep, go to bed earlier and get up earlier. I hope this helps a bit. Take Care

you could be tied because of the recent weather change, also because of the amount of stress you have that you don't realize is there. try going to a massage parlor for a deep tissue massage or acupuncture. this will wake your muscles up and you'll feel more energized.

THATS BECAUSE U SLEEP WAY TO MUCH, TO MUCH SLEEP ISN'T HEALTHY FOR YOU. I ALSO AM YOUR AGE, AND I LIKE SLEEP TOO, BUT I FOUND OUT WHEN I GET UP EARLIER I HAVE MORE ENERGY AND GO TO BED EARLIER. IF YOU SLEEP ALL DAY, YOUR BODY GETS USED TO IT, AND YOUR BODY PRODUCES MECHONIUM THROUGH THE DAY, IT DOESN'T PRODUCE IT DURING THE NIGHT, SO THE MECHONIUM IS WHAT GIVES YOU ENERGY. TRY A DIFFRENT SLEEP SCHEDULE.
