1. Dress in a suit, or at least don't dress like a moron in goofy t-shirts and jeans

3. Ask vet offices if you would be able to post a flier and keep some business cards at their offices
4. Put adds in the LOST & FOUND of your local paper that you are a pet detective with a contact number
5. Offer a full refund if pet is not found
6. Respond to lost pet adds in your area, and offer your services with a money back guarantee
7. Truly care for pets
8. Get references from satisfied customers, keep them in a binder to show prospective clients, and also post them on your website

Try hiding a very big dog in a wooded area. Then count to ten and find him. Continue on till you can hide and find a toy size dog. You could also "borrow" your neighbors pets. Then "find" them for free to build yourself a good reputation.

Find the closest mental facility,I think they give training classes for just that sort of thing.And just for some extra credits,take a course in under water basket weaving.That is truly an art that will never die,so you're always guaranteed a job.
