Whenever I wear heels, they hurt my feet extremely and I end up walking barefoot. I've tried and tried to get used to them but I can't. I usually prefer flats, is this a serious problem?

Although I am well used to wearing heels, it has taken much practice. But I have a limit in the height that I can wear. We all have a limit. For some of us, that limit is quite low.

Indeed, the professional medical view is that we ought not to wear heels at all, with a distinct preference for barefeet!

If your feet hurt wearing heels, then don't do so. Wearing flatties is okay, although have you considered a very low heel? Thin heels about an inch high can be quite sexy.

At the end of the day, if it ain't comfortable, don't wear it.

Unless you luck out and find a pair that are made specifically for your feet that don't give you any problems, heels will hurt.

What you may want to try, if you still want to wear them, is getting a shoe with that does not have such a high heel. There are heels out there, like wedges, that are stylish but are not like, with 4-5 inch heels that are a lot more comfy than say, stilettos.

Good Luck!

Everyone's feet hurts ater wearing heels.
You can try "training" your feet to wear heels by starting to wear 1 inch heels then slowly increasing the heels inches.
That might be an option. Haven not tried that yet though. But it might work

applying to loves_it : i have small feet, size 5 and DO get pains
I think those with "narrow" feet doesn't hurt as much as wide footed people on heels.

No, your feet are probably used to flats, so heels are a big transition. I know this is a cliche, but practice make perfect. You don't have to walk perfectly in heels but just try walking around in them for an hour in your house. Your feet will get used to them eventually.

They really aren't meant to be worn for long periods of time. If you have a fancy dinner to go to, or a meeting- go grab the sexy stilettos.. if you are going out to a club.. you might want to bring a spare pair of very cute shoes to change into.

Women sacrifice comfort for fashion all the time: Heels, pantyhose, bras, girdles, adorable shoes that are just half a size smaller than your size.. but you cant pass up the sale. I have several pairs of adorable shoes- but when my husband suggests a pair I often have to tell him, "no, no.. those aren't 'walking-shoes'" He gets a little crazy at this point.

good luck, but i think most of us will agree, they are never exactly comfortable. go with comfortable, but very cute flats!

You will . I used to be awful at wearing them. I would suggest wearing high heel boots that have great support then work your way to the shoes.
