I love Christmas! We always get a real tree. The smell and texture of it can't be beat. It might be a little more maintenance but it's worth it. We used to get our trees from the same place every year but they closed down. But there is nothing like putting up the tree and watching the faces of our children get excited. This puts me in the mood for a Christmas song. Check out this tune by The Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

While that's fun, and I used to do it all the time, this year I'm buying a 9 to 11 foot artificial tree for our new house. Easier to deal with, and since I like putting up the tree the day after Thanksgiving...I won't have to worry about all the needles falling off.

I love the smell of a real Christmas tree. Love the task of going to find one, bringing it home, many great childhood memories of this. But...... do you have any idea how many months and years I picked pine needles out of my carpet? Way too many. And it f**king hurts when you get stuck with one in your toe or foot. There's nothing better than a real Christmas tree at Christmas, but I will never do it again.

We have an artifical prelit tree that goes together in 30 seconds. Love it for the ease.

The funny thing is for several years we did have a large 7 foot real tree each year & that was the only time of year that my Brittany Spaniel insisted on peeing in the house - so - no more real trees for obvious reasons!!!

I will not put a real tree in my house. It is much prettier (and useful) out in nature that in my living room. I use a fake tree but I do clip a few small spriggs of a real one and mingle them in with the fake branches. I get the smell of fresh pine without killing the tree.

No, I prefer the artificial ones. A lot less mess. I usually put out the evergreen smelling candles though. I am prone to forget to water my plants, so I know I would forget to water the tree and we have a fireplace insert and burn with wood heat, so the tree would dry out more quicker. Artificial is just easier for me.

Always did, always will.

In my opinion, having a fake tree kills the spirit of christmas (new year's).

Oh, and the smell pine trees have! That's what christmas is about

I would LOVE to...but my husbands allergic to the mold that grows on their needles. *sigh* At least I have a very full looking fake tree. I will however be buying a natural wreath with pine, holly and ivy.
