Will bringing in Lou Pinella help the cubs end the curse? Your thoughts?

Well he definitely can't hurt, that's for sure! Look what Jim Leyland did for the Tigers in just one season - kinda makes anything possible, doesn't it?

The Cubs are not cursed. I want you to say this to yourself at least 1000 times until you get it. The Cubs are who they are because as an organization they don't do enough or what is necessary to win championships. They have ownership that won't spend the money to attract free agents. They have general management who can't scout and evalutate. They also have problems with key players year after year hurt all the time.

Having Sweet Lou does not in anyway gaurantee a World Series Championship in the future. The Mariners and Devil Rays had him and they didn't jack. Until they resolve certain player and pitching issues that plague this team, they are no better than a 70-win team.

Sorry.

Look, dude, at this point I'll take anything. Sweet Lou is a respected coach around the league who is known to light a fire under his players, something the Cubs sorely missed under the Baker era. He also will prob push for some big free agent signings this off season. Will he bring a World Series champ to the North Side?? I dont know for sure, but as a Cub fan of 30 years, I'm willing to try anything at this point. Maybe hiring a chimpanzee as pitching coach might help, hell, lets try it

Nope. Cubs finish 3rd in the division next year behind the Cards and Reds.

Not necessarily. He can't win if he doesn't have talent (as was the case in Tampa Bay). The GM of that team needs to get busy and get him some players, especially some starting pitching.
